On Nov. 30th, local time, Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi held a meeting themed ¡°Let Dreams Fly and Achieve a Better Future¡± between Chinese-funded enterprises and graduates. Twenty-one Chinese enterprises, such as CCTV Africa and AVIC International Beijing (East Africa) Co., Ltd and nearly 400 students attended this recruitment fair. Prof. Peter Mbithi, Chancellor of the University of Nairobi and Guo Ce, Economic &Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Kenya attended and addressed the activity.

Prof. Mbithi said in his remarks that Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi has achieved full-fledged development so far, and it is a pioneering work of the Confucius Institute to hold this meeting between Chinese enterprises and graduates, which provides great convenience for them. The University of Nairobi strong supports such meetings and hopes to have more opportunities to hold this kind of events.

Guo noted that the Confucius Institute is gradually growing, and it is encouraging to organize such a large-scale recruitment fair. More than 20 Chinese enterprises with a total recruitment quota of nearly 500 people attended the fair, which will settle the employment for many graduates and boost the mutual development of China and Kenya¡¯s economy. He also expressed his hope to present graduates to find suitable and long-term jobs.

Later£¬Prof. Mbithi and Guo visited the booths of recruiters. Attending students said that it is the first activity of such kind in Nairobi. They have never attended a recruitment fair with so many Chinese enterprises. The recruitment fair held by Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi is of great importance to them and provides them with many job opportunities.

At this meeting, graduates came to submit their resumes to favored enterprises and carefully filled out personal resumes for companies to have a deep understanding of themselves. Recruiters also benefited a lot from the fair. Some enterprises even received hundreds of resumes.

The event not only solved the personnel shortage of Chinese enterprises, but offered vast development space for university students.
