Taking Sino-German collaboration to the next level: Audi-Ingolstadt Confucius Institute agreement signing ceremony held at Confucius Institute Headquarters

On June 13, 2016, the Audi-Ingolstadt Confucius Institute held an agreement signing ceremony at Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban). The event was attended by Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) President Prof. Walter Schober, Audi China Human Resources Director Mr. Michael Gross, Ingolstadt City spokesman Dr. Gerd Treffer, Chief Executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters and Director General of Hanban Madam Xu Lin, and South China University of Technology Executive Vice President Prof. Peng Xinyi.

This Confucius Institute is to receive operation expenses from Audi Group and the Municipal Government of Ingolstadt, with support such as Chinese language teachers, teaching materials and programs provided by Hanban, and teaching space, facilities and management staff provided by THI.

This is the first time throughout the world that a Confucius Institute has had an international enterprise participate in its investment and construction, the purpose of which is to provide high-quality Chinese language teaching services for the students and faculty of THI, Audi employees and other locals, thereby promoting economy and trade between China and Germany, as well as technological and cultural exchange.
